My name is Austin.

I am an industrial designer, pattern maker, climber and biker with a mind that never stops racing.

Growing up in the Appalachian Mountains, my passion for design was born through Misty Mountain Threadworks where I learned the value of product testing, the ins and outs of manufacturing and the importance of community. I eventually moved west to dive deeper into the industry.

Here I have found success by focusing on maintaining design intent throughout the process, building reliable relationships, exploring various disciplines and manufacturing techniques, and developing a unique network within and beyond the industry. The metrics that have measured this success are brand recognition, increased margins and success in new markets.

With all of this, I push my designs to be functionally driven. I constantly seek out experiences that place me in the user's shoes in order to watch, listen and learn.

Believing that great products can only be achieved through testing, I insist on prototyping and validating ideas throughout the design process. This hands on approach along with strong relationships have developed an outlook that efficiently brings high quality products to market.
